MB: Bukit Selambau will show if the people support Pakatan


SUNGAI streamyx mail The Bukit Selambau by-election would be the acid test to determine Kedah folk’s support for the Pakatan Rakyat leadership.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak said winning the seat would give the state government an impetus to continue with its work and style of administration.

“If the voters are confident with my government, I am confident we will win this by-election.

“But, if they want to go back to the former state government, there is nothing much I can do. Hopefully, they will support me,” he said after chairing a state exco meeting at the Kuala Muda district office here yesterday .

He said he tm net streamyx done his best to date, and that it was up to the people to judge the present state government’s performance and the changes it had made.

On a different matter, Azizan said Kedah would see a reshuffle of portfolios among its state exco members by March 3.

Declining to indicate if there would be new faces in the line-up, he told reporters to be patient for the announcement.

“We will look at the performances of some of the excos when deciding on the line-up. I will inform and obtain the consent of the Sultan of Kedah first before announcing the list,” he said.

On the state Domestic, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Siamese Community, Unity and Estate Workers Committee chairman post, formerly held by Bukit Selambau assemblyman V. Arumugam, who quit both posts on Feb 8, Azizan said it was telekom streamyx being handled by Lunas MP Muhammad Radhi Salleh.

The Siamese Community and Indian Community Affairs Committee portfolios, he said, was currently not occupied.

Asked if he (Arumugam) had contacted him since his disappearance on Feb 4, Abdul Razak said: “I know he is somewhere outside Malaysia but he has not contacted me. Perhaps, my phone lines are too busy.

“Why should I contact him? There are many avenues he can use to reach me.”
